Just what I needed.
By Kimberly V.
For the longest time, I believed that light tables were expensive. I had seen many models in art stores in the $200-$400 price range which is much more than I could afford. I was thrilled to find this product which is much cheaper. I have used high end light tables before in offices and I am happy to say that the performance of this product is comparable to other tables which I have used. I especially like the fact that the table is slanted which makes drawing on it much easier. It also has a place to put pens and pencils at the top which I find quite handy. The table is a bit bulky, but it is light enough to be portable.Currently, I am using this product to aid in developing hand drawings from sketchup models. The light is bright enough that I can see through several layers of trace paper. I am very happy with this purchase.

light tracer box
By Tpainter51
I was looking for a tracer light box as an aid in the design process for my custom made knives. I found the artograph light tracer on Amazon.com, cheaper than anywhere else. The light box works great. It serves my purpose as well as an industrial box for a lot more money. The Autograph lightTracer light box, I think, is made for the younger artist, but it works great for us older artist's too. I would recommend this product to any one.

Used it once - already not working
By Tricia
We were excited to surprise our little boy with this for Christmas as he has enjoyed using one at his buddy's house. After using it once, the light appears to have burned out (no light when plugged in and turned on). I've been too busy to deal with returning it and am just plain annoyed. Gotta question the quality.

I bought a similar loupe 40 years ago in Italy and used it over and over and over again until the lens came out a few months ago. It looked exactly like this one. It did the job and I expect that this one will be just as good.

A "glowing" review
By SM
Oh my goodness... I searched high and low for this particular "globox" and I finally received it as a gift for my birthday. I LOVE IT! It's so easy to use... it's convenient and I can take it to any class and not worry about getting in the way of other participants (which the larger lightboxes tend to do.) I am very pleased with this and would recommend it to anyone that wants a petite, portable light source! :o)

OK for white or light colored card stock
By loves2read
I am new to card making and wanted the ability to dry emboss them. This light box is disappointing in that the light is only bright in the center. The other problem is you must use only white or very light colored card stock. I wanted to use this to make Christmas cards only to discover that even medium colored paper is too dark to see the stencil, making it worthless for my project. I gave it three stars because if you stay with light colored paper and use stencils that are not much larger than three inches it will get the job done.

Nice little light box
By William M. Mccoy
I needed a small portable light box. Not much space around my computer. I am saving my old photo slides to digital format and needed to make sure the slides are clean and dust free before saving them. It is great for viewing the slides. Top can hold my cleaning supplies.

Pleased with drawing table.
By Ms. Stolte
I hesitate to rate this product with a number because I don't have much experience with other drawing tables and therefore don't have much to compare it to.I am used to a clunky older model of drawing table. This new lightweight, compact model is a nice change for me. It suits my home studio needs very nicely and I hope to be using it for a long time to come.

Good, But...
By 3r1c4
This light box does its job well. Plenty of light to shine through layout bond paper. Amazingly, the light distributes pretty evenly considering there's only 1 florescent bulb centered in the middle of the box. I'm impressed with this item's performance. My only gripe is that it looks like it's made from poor metal, and when I opened mine, there was a piece rattling around loose inside the box area. I unscrewed the top, and a small metal square had fallen out of its slot. It is one of the 4 pieces (1 for each corner) that slides over the edge of the box to have a buffer between the box and the top slate. There's a hole in each of the 4 pieces for the screws to go through to hold them in place. This 1 piece is damaged though; it looks like when the hole was made it split the metal so the screw can no longer hold it. When I pay this much for an item, I expect it to have been inspected for little things such as this, but I guess not. I just kept it since I needed it for a project due this week. And otherwise this light box is great. I was just disappointed in quality control.

great product and service
By jnaki
hello, the gagne light box is very well built. it is cool to the touch even after sorting hundreds of color slides. the design is very modern and fits with most modern desk items. the top is plexiglass and can be easily replaced if damaged. we will use it for drawing and tracing patterns when we are finished with our color slide sorting project. we were going to buy the photo slide sorter, but that has limitations. that product only does slides. this gagne product has a dual, maybe a triple purpose. color slide sorter, detailed pen and ink drawings, and transfers to different types of material. we are extremely happy with the product. you can't get any better service than from amazon and its affiliates.

Awkward to put originals in place
By Kerumbo
One point that hasn't been mentioned: Other opaque projectors have a space at the bottom, where the original can be placed, with the projector resting on top. This lets you use odd-sized or over-sized originals (books, for example -- or even 3-D objects) and locate the right area that you want to project, by simply moving the projector (or the original) around a bit. Even Artograph's other projectors work this way.But this model wants you to fix the original in place on TOP of the machine, above the mirror and lens, using a couple of metal strips. And there's no sheet of glass to rest the original on -- you're supposed to use these 2 metal strips (as I understand it) to hold it up, and make it hover over the mirror. There's no way to know exactly the right place to put the key part of the original. And if the original is not a suitable size to fit within the parameters of the projector and its metal strips, well you are out of luck. NOT practical! My solution? Turn the whole thing upside-down, leave the lid open and set it down on top of the original. Works for me! But maybe somebody else can make another suggestion, or point-out something I am missing.Otherwise, I am very happy with it so far. I was given a Magnajector as a kid, many years ago, used it countless times, and this is a nice upgrade from that (once I turn it upside-down!). Reasonably priced, with strong and clear projection.

Completely satisfied
By b2k
The day I received the projector I began using it. The only glitch in putting it together was the lens. Looking at the photo on the box I thought the glass part of the lens was installed outward, this is incorrect. I reinstalled the lens to face inward and have had no further problems. I ordered this product as I am putting together decorations for a dance and needed to have tall drawings; my first drawing was an 8 foot giraffe. The lines were easy to draw from, although make sure it is as dark as possible in the room. I would highly recommend this product.
